Pitch Design Series featuring Rapsodo
The Details
PBC Pitch Design Series
The first class of it's kind will work specifically with pitchers on the art of pitch design. Never before has this data been available to amateur athletes.
Using Rapsodo's patented spin technology, pitchers will get immediate feedback for:
Pitch Velocity
Spin Rate
True Spin Rate
Spin Axis
Spin Efficiency
Strike Zone Analysis
Horizontal & Vertical Break
3D Pitch Tracking
To truly understand how your pitches move, run, break, etc, this data will quantify your numbers and provide instant feedback. You will be able to work on the feel of each pitch AND see the data that drives the physics of the pitch. See how each pitch improves and receive access to your pitch information on the cloud as well.
Ex MLB and Independent ball pitcher Brian McAfee will run the class with help from Joe Taylor and Daniel Gerth. Brian played college ball at Cornell before getting his Masters at Duke and is currently working on his Mico-Masters from MIT. He spent time with both the Rays and Mariners organizations. Brian trained at Driveline in Seattle during the offseason where he had first hand experience in pitch design using the Rapsodo.
The Art of the Fastball
December 9th - 2:00-3:00pm
Hard and straight gets hit far. Hard and late movement gets hitters out. We will work on 4 seam and 2 seam fastballs and teach you how to create run and sink on the ball. If you've ever been told your fastball is straight, you can't miss this class.
The Art of the Slider
December 9th - 3:00-4:00pm
Spin Axis and spin efficiency development will turn that soft fade into a hard late break! Gain the feel of how to release the pitch and see how that affects your spin rate and horizontal break.
The Art of the Changeup
December 16th - 2:00-3:00pm
The best pitch in baseball is a well thrown changeup. Learn how changes to spin rate and spin axis create a filthy pitch. You'll also see when and how the ball gets vertical and horizontal break.
The Art of the Curveball
December 16th - 3:00-4:00pm
Drop the hammer by increasing spin rate and learning how to create a later break. 3D tracking will show you when your pitch starts to break and spin rate will explain why it breaks so hard or soft.
Space is limited to 4 pitchers at a time. This will ensure individual attention to each pitch and pitcher. Register here
