Joe Taylor - Owner, 14U Head Coach & Lead Instructor

Phone: 503-380-5685

Email: jtaylor@portlandbaseballclub.com

Joe started Portland Baseball Club in 2008 after spending 5 years as the General Manager of NW Star Academy.

As General Manager, NW Star Academy grew exponentially. They formed a very successful Apple Cup Fall League which grew to 24 teams in 2008. They coordinated 3 summer teams at the 14U, 18U, and collegiate levels.

The 18U team went on an amazing run in 2008 winning Senior Babe Ruth state, regionals, and the World Series in Newark, Ohio. The team went undefeated during the playoffs and gave a group of 16 players, 3 coaches, and 2 administrators the experience of a lifetime. Head coach Brad Neffendorf with assistants Chris Lewis and Mick Ellett all return with Portland Baseball Club to assume coaching duties.

Prior to NW Star Academy, Joe completed his BA in Communications at Lewis & Clark College where he was a 3 year starter as a pitcher and middle infielder. Before LC, Joe attended Green River CC in Auburn, WA for one season.

Joe is originally from Seattle, Wa where he attended Mt. Rainier and Tahoma High Schools. Graduating in 2000, Joe had the opportunity to play Senior Babe Ruth and Connie Mack baseball with the Auburn Knights Baseball Club for coach Jim Sugarbaker throughout high school. The opportunities that he received in high school are exactly the opportunities he hopes to provide for Portland area youths.
