Joe Taylor - jtaylor@portlandbaseballclub.com

Head Coach

Joe Taylor started Portland Baseball Club and is the 14U team head coach. He will also serve as an assistant on the 18U team.

Prior to starting Portland Baseball Club, Joe served as the General Manager of NW Star Academy. Roles included organizing their 3 summer teams at the 14U, 18U, and collegiate level, coordinating a 24 team fall baseball league, conducting camps and private instruction, and coordinating the Northwest Baseball Coaches Convention. Joe oversaw the team that won the 2008 Senior Babe Ruth World Series in Newark, Ohio.

Joe played for 3 years at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR where he was a pitcher and infielder. He graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors of Art degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science. While at Lewis & Clark, Joe was a key piece to the team as he led the team in pitching appearances all 3 years. Prior to Lewis & Clark College, Joe played 1 season at Green River CC in Auburn, WA. Joe attended Mt. Rainier HS in Des Moines, WA his freshman and sophomore years and graduated from Tahoma HS in Maple Valley, WA where he was an all league infielder as a junior and senior.

Growing up, Joe had lots of opportunity to play high caliber summer baseball while being trained year round by highly respected coaches. The ability to work with kids and develop their athletic abilities while teaching them life skills is what makes Portland Baseball Club unique. Joe is dedicated to providing the same opportunities for players from all over the Portland Metropolitan area.

Away from the baseball field, Joe likes to play golf. Joe and his wife Hillary reside in Sherwood.
