July 20th, 2009 - PBC wins first games at Regionals

Behind a dominating pitching performance by Reed Nicholson, Portland Baseball Club won the opening game of the 2009 Babe Ruth Regionals 7-0 over Burbank, WA. Ryan Barnes also hit a 3 run homerun in a 5 run 2nd inning.

In the nightcap, Matt Nylen led the charge with an inside the park homerun as Portland Baseball Club defeated Alberta 12-0 in 5 innings.

I will be traveling with the team the remainder of the tournament and won't have access to update the website. However, I am going to try and keep everyone updated by using Twitter. I've never done this before, but I will be updating my Twitter page throughout the games starting Saturday with updates every few innings. Here is the link:

July 25th, 2009 - PBC 18U Wins State Tournament, Headed to Regionals

Portland Baseball Club 18U is the 2009 North Oregon Senior Babe Ruth State Champions. They defeated Corbett in the championship game to move on to the regional tournament.

Regionals will begin Thursday July 30th with a DH at University of Washington.

More information will be forthcoming.

July 22nd, 2009 - PBC 18U Team Hosting Babe Ruth State Tournament

The North Oregon 16-18 Babe Ruth Tournament will be hosted by Portland Baseball Club starting July 22nd. All games will be played at Clackamas CC. The tournament will feature 8 teams in a double elimination competition for one spot at the regional tournament July 30-August 3 at the University of Washington. The winner of regionals moves on to the World Series.

June 28th, 2009 - PBC 18U Wins Post 9 Tournament

The Portland Baseball Club 18U team won their first tournament of the year defeating the host team Post 9 Highwaymen 8-0 in 5 innings in the championship game. Matt Pechmann picked up the win. The team went 4-0 in the tournament.

Next up is the highly respected Curt Daniels Invitational against some of the top teams in the Northwest. Games will be played at University of Portland and Propstra Stadium.

May 30th, 2009 - Portland Splits their Opening Day Games

In the first 18U game for Portland Baseball Club, they defeated the visiting Seattle Bombers 8-3. They dropped game two 4-3. The two clubs will meet again Sunday the 31st in a doubleheader starting at 11am.

May 18th, 2009 - Portland Baseball Club 18U 3 Weeks till First Game

The inaugural Portland Baseball Club 18U game will take place on Thursday May 28th at Clackamas CC against the Coyotes Baseball Club. It will be a 5pm start.

November 3, 2008 - Portland Baseball Club 18U Team Announced

Portland Baseball Club is pleased to announce the formation of an 18U team in the summer of 2009. The team will be led by Head Coach Chris Lewis, Assistant Coach Mick Ellett, and Assistant Coach Brad Neffendorf.
