The Portland Baseball Club will compete as a 14U independent team in 2009. The team will include players from all over the Portland metropolitan area. The schedule will feature over 40 games, but more importantly, the schedule will feature a comprehensive practice schedule. The team will train throughout the winter into the spring and continue practicing throughout the summer. At the 13-14 year age group, player development is the number one concern. It's not about how many tournaments we win or how many games we win in total, its about developing each player's athletic ability as it relates to baseball movements. We emphasize player development through a balance of practices and game competition. Players on this team are hard working baseball players. We will work with each kid individually and in small groups to development their athletic abilities. We begin working with players the minute they sign a contract to play on the team.
